BonaFide CGC Preparatory ClassThe American Kennel Club's CGC Program is a wonderful way to showcase your dog's good
manners so he can be distinguished as a "Canine Good Citizen." Prepare for the 10-step CGC test that
covers basic skills such as loose-leash walking, sitting politely for petting, coming when called, and
more Dogs should have a solid sit, down, recall (come), wait/stay, and be able to walk
politely on lead around distraction. This class is a review and refining of basic skills, not an introduction of basic manners.
PLEASE NOTE: Harnesses, haltis, and correction collars are not allowed during CGC testing. If you are dependent on these kinds of equipment, you are NOT ready for the CGC class.
Class length: 4 weeks Prerequisites
Dog and handler must have completed at MINIMUM one basic teen or adult obedience class (puppy classes do not count) - PLEASE consult your current BonaFide instructor or contact us to see if your dog is ready for this class. The instructor has the right to excuse any dog and handler that come into the class with insufficient skills (no refunds or class credits). Handlers and dogs should not be reliant on corrective equipment or harnesses. While these items are great training tools, they are not acceptable in CGC testing. If your dog is still working on corrective equipment, you are not ready for this class. Handler must be an adult (18 yrs or older) unless prior permission is given by the instructor or the class is designated as a kid's class. Any minor handling a dog must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. Please call us at 402.250.9452 or email us with any questions. Pricing
