BonaFide Class Categories At BonaFide Dog Academy, we offer a wide variety of fun and educational opportunities for you and your dog. Because we have such a large number of classes and activities, we only post the detailed information of classes CURRENTLY scheduled. Below is a general summary of what we offer. Puppy Classes In addition to our Puppy Foundations Flex class, we also offer classes in tracking, agility, clicker, and special social opportunities just for puppies. Basic Manners and Obedience Whether you have a canine adolescent or an adult dog, we have classes that cover the basic for all ages of dogs -- including more advanced levels of training. We frequently offer classes and evaluations for the AKC's Canine Good Citizen program, which is open to all dogs. We currently offer classes for terriers, bully-mastiff breeds, herding dogs, toy dogs, and sporting breeds. Click here to see what breed- or group-specific classes are currently being offered. Dog Sports & Activities BonaFide also offers a wide range of classes and activities in dog sports. These include agility, tracking, competition obedience, rally obedience, dryland mushing (canicross, bikejoring, scootering), carting, weight pull, K9 dressage & freestyle. Therapy Classes MAY 2010 UPDATE: Delta Society has just released a new policy for all Pet Partners teams, effective 30 June 2010, which regulates the types of food and treat items that can be fed to Pet Partners. This regulation conflicts with the feeding regimes followed by many well-informed, responsible pet owners, including Delta Pet Partner handlers across the country. We at BonaFide believe strongly in the right of every pet owner to decide what is best to feed his/her pet and to seek and follow the professional advice of his/her veterinarian regarding any questions about diets. Regretfully, as a result of Delta’s new policy, BonaFide will no longer offer Delta Pet Partners handler training workshops for new teams or evaluations for new Delta Society Pet Partner teams. We will continue to support our current Pet Partner teams who choose to remain registered with Delta until their current registration expires. We are also exploring other therapy organizations so that we may continue to serve the community with our therapy teams. Specialty Sometimes our clients' needs are more specific; that's why we offer specialty classes! We frequently offer courses that work solely on recall (come), self control, attention, leash manners and more. We also offer classes specifically for shy dogs (Wallflowers) and for the dogs that have leash reactivitiy issues (Cranky Canines). Private Training When a class setting isn't appropriate or scheduling just won't allow it, private training is another option we offer dog owners! Training is avalable year-round and may be done in-home or at our facility. For more information about private training, click here . Miscellaneous Offerings BonaFide clients don't just come for classes! Our Jog-a-Dog treadmill is a favorite of many of our clients (private scheduling). Clients also rent ringtime for their own training or to set up "playdates" for their dogs. We also offer a wide variety of drop-in classes for our current students in agility, rally, obedience pulling sports, and even outdoor training in the warmer months (see our web calendar ). Kids' Classes Getting kids in on the action of training the family dog can be a great activity. BonaFide occasionally offers Kids-n-K9s classes that allow 8-12 year olds the opportunity to have fun training the family dog. Click here to see what kids' classes are currently being offered.
