BonaFide Terrific Terriers Terriers come in many different shapes and sizes and make absolutely wonderful pets. But as most people know who own a terrier know, these charming little angels can flip into noisy little devil dogs in an instant when they see a rabbit in the yard, hear the vacuum sweeper or chomp down onto a favorite toy. Come learn more about why terriers do what they do and how to deal with them in this class designed specifically for terriers and terrier mixes. We will discuss the history and development of the terrier breeds, the drives behind their behaviors and how to deal with specific problem behaviors common to most terriers. We will also cover basic behaviors such as sit, down, stay, come when called and walking politely on leash. If you have a terrier and need to develop a good working relationship with him, this is the class for you! Please Note: First class meeting will be our 1-2 hour "Terrier Talk" (people only), followed by four weeks of group terrier class with your dogs. Terrific Terrier students do not have to sign up for Terrier Talk separately. PLEASE NOTE: The first week of class is discussion only . Please do NOT bring your dog to the first session - we will be covering general learning theory, facility rules, and other important information during this session. Proof of current vaccinations must be provided at the first session. Class length: 4 weeks (plus 2-hour lecture class) Class size limit: 4 Class duration: 45 minutes Prerequisites A dog at least 6 months old A positive attitude A sense of humor Current vaccination records (including rabies for all dogs 28 weeks and older) Handler must be an adult (18 yrs or older) unless prior permission is given by the instructor or the class is designated as a kid's class.
