About the Course

(For teams that are currently not ready to compete)

Teams will learn the basic cues of obstacle and handler focus. Additional skills will include targeting, and developing confidence working on both sides of the handler.  Jumps (no height) and tunnels will be introduced. Concepts of extension and collection will be introduced with foundation training for both. Basic handling skills will be introduced (front and rear cross). Teams will be introduced to obstacles and basics of training weaves and contacts.  Short sequences up to 8 obstacles will be completed.

Taught by Dr. Cheryl Morris – Cheryl has obtained over 150 agility titles including 11 AKC Master Agility Championships and has competed in 11 AKC and USDAA finals at National Events, including winning the AKC National Agility Championship in 2013 with her rescue border collie, Karma.  Cheryl has competed in AKC, NADAC, CPE and USDAA with titles in all four venues.  Cheryl’s emphasis is teaching teams to balance their cues between handler and obstacle focus in order to master course challenges regardless of venue.
