Life’s busy, and your dog’s energy never seems to take a day off. At Bonafide Dog Academy, we created our dog daycare to give dogs a safe, structured place to learn, play, and grow while you tackle your day worry-free.
We’re proud to be Omaha’s only boutique, low-volume dog daycare focused on quality over quantity. We have the largest facility and the lowest number of dogs per square foot in the state of Nebraska. As the premier dog day care and training facility in Omaha, our 15,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled facility (see our video tour) gives every dog more space, more attention, and a better experience from start to finish. We’re selective to ensure a great fit - only around 75% of dogs meet our standards for Day Academy.
Your dog will chill in our custom made oversized 4 x 6 custom kennels (we call them Suites) while not playing in our 2 huge 2,500 square foot playrooms (50’ x 50’) or doing enrichment in one of our smaller training rooms. You won’t find a dozen dogs packed into a tiny room of a strip mall here. Our dogs play in small, carefully matched groups of around seven, under the watchful eye of our caring instructors. There’s always at least one certified trainer (CPDT-KA or ABCDT) on staff all day.

🐾 Low-Volume, High-Attention: Even though we have the largest dog daycare & training space in Omaha (over 15,000 square feet), our daily attendance is capped at just 25 dogs total, so every dog and client gets individual focus and care.
🐾 Structure not Chaos: We structure your dog’s day with supervised group play, rest, potty times, walks, with 1-1 training and enrichment. We do not operate a “free-for-all” type daycare.

🐾 Expert Certified Trainers: We employ two CPDT-KA and one ABCDT Certified Trainers. We have more certified trainers in one facility than anyone in the state of Nebraska. For reference, there are only about 5,500 CPDT-KA trainers in the United States and the exam has a passing rate of only 68%.
🐾 Customized Experience: Group play isn’t for everyone so we offer daily one-on-one enrichment, nose work, or quiet time for dogs who prefer solo adventures.

How to Get Started
1. Apply for Day Academy Dog Daycare
Start by filling out our quick Evaluation Form! Tell us about your dog’s personality, habits, and goals so we can set them up for success.
2. Schedule the Evaluation Day
Bring your pup in for their evaluation visit! We’ll introduce them gently, observe play style, and make sure they’re comfortable and confident. If it’s a great fit, we’ll help you choose the perfect Day Academy package.
3. Begin Your Dog’s Day Academy Journey
Drop off between 7–9 AM and pick up between 4–6 PM. You’ll bring home a happy, tired, and well-enriched dog — the best kind of day!

Day Academy FAQ’s

To enroll in our daycare program, simply complete our online intake form and submit your dog’s vaccination records. Once received, we’ll schedule your full evaluation day to ensure our environment is a good fit for your dog. After approval, you can book daycare days anytime through our online system.

We do not accept every dog - in fact only about 70% of applicants are accepted. Dogs with severe behavior problems such as human directed aggression, separation anxiety, high level resource guarding (from humans) and severe dog directed aggression are not suited for this program. Please contact us about private training.

You can park right at our front door—no long walks from the lot! A team member will greet you in our modern lobby and escort your dog to their private suite.
Daily activities include:
A private training session with their assigned trainer
A private Extra-Curricular Skills training session with their assigned trainer
Recess (activities include social play with other dogs, walks, toy play or nose work.)
Morning enrichment (foraging food toys)
Noon time calming enrichment
Structured rest time

Crated nap time is an integral part of the Educational Daycare experience. Therefore, all dogs must be crate trained. We define “crate trained” as a dog who will go willingly into a crate when the door is open & they are led up to it and will then remain in the crate without barking, whining, pawing at the door, or chewing on the crate.
If your dog is not crate trained, we can help! Contact us for details about a private training program to address crate training.

We do not require parents to bring their pets food, but we recommend that you do. This way we can use a portion of their daily feeding for training and food toys, and avoid adding too many extra calories.

All dogs must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccinations as well as flea, tick and heartworm prevention.

Puppies must be 12 weeks or older and have had at least 2 rounds of vaccinations. Please call us if you have a dog younger than 12 weeks.

Your dog will spend a day-long structured visit with us so we can get to know their personality, play style, and comfort level. We’ll start with a one-on-one introduction, then gradually meet a few well-matched dogs under trainer supervision. Throughout the visit, we observe behavior, confidence, and how your dog responds to our environment. Afterward, we’ll share our findings and let you know if daycare is a good fit and what schedule or group would suit your dog best.

Our drop off window is between 7AM and 9AM
Our pick up window is between 4PM and 6PM
The building is CLOSED from 9AM to 4PM. Late drop off and early pick up are available at a small additional fee ($10).

Upon being accepted into the program, you will receive access to our online scheduling portal. From there, you can schedule your daycare days from home. We recommend scheduling your full month in advance as our program has very limited space and spots are first come, first served.
Due to the structured nature of our program, we do not offer day by day payment. Clients purchase the number of days they would like to attend in a month and then schedule as needed from there.
