For dogs over 18 months learning basic skills and manners or are beginning their training journey.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Prep Class and Testing

For advanced dogs who’ve completed Adult Manners or are ready to polish their manners for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.

This 5 week class is designed to polish your dog’s manners and reliability for real-life success and prepare you both for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Each lesson strengthens your dog’s confidence, self-control, and ability to respond calmly in new or distracting environments. This class includes the Testing for your dog to receive earn their AKC Canine Good Citizen Title.

  • The natural progression is to start with Adolescent Manners for dogs 8-18 months old and progress to Adult Manners for Dogs over 18 months.

    For Dogs 12 months or older that need work on specific behaviors or problems the Adult Dog Open Training is a great option.

    You can then finish with the Canine Good Citizen prep class or move into dog sports.

    Note: You may enter any level with instructor permission

  • Jumping, leash pulling, reactivity, barking, anxiety, fearfulness, aggression toward other dogs, counter surfing, door manners, and more.

  • Many reactive dogs can attend with management strategies in place. Severe reactivity may be better suited to private lessons. If you have unsure, please contact us and we’ll guide you.

  • All classes are capped at a maximum of 6 dogs or less to ensure safety, coaching attention, and progress. Our huge training areas ensure each dog has appropriate space.

  • No. We train using positive reinforcement, science-based methods, and humane tools only.

Dog Training Classes FAQ’s

  • Please bring a 5-6 foot leash, flat buckle or martingale collar, about 100 treats (tiny pieces of cheese or turkey - about ¼ the size of a small store bought dog treat), and a willingness to learn.

  • Most group classes run 4–6 weeks, 45–60 minutes per session.

  • Yes — workshops and classes include leash skills, trick training, scent games, house manners, agility foundations, and more.

  • Yes. Trainers can help place you in the best class for your dog’s skill level and learning style.

  • No — we believe owners must be involved in the training process. We focus on coaching you to train your dog successfully.
